The Elk Hair Caddis is arguably the most popular dry fly ever tied, and for good reason: it floats without help, it is almost impossible to sink, and it represents the caddisfly adults that hatch in huge numbers on almost every river. The brown banded body keeps the profile natural on coloured water, and the flared elk hair wing is built to be dragged through the tail of a pool as a skated fly.
